How to Use MDForge

Follow these simple steps to generate AI-powered segmentations from your medical imaging data.

Step 1: Prepare Your DICOM Folder

Note

For best results, ensure your DICOM data is complete and uncorrupted. Currently, we support standard CBCT and CT formats.

Place all your DICOM files into a single folder and compress it into a .zip file.

Step 2: Upload to MDForge

  1. Visit the Upload page.
  2. Select your zipped DICOM folder to upload.
  3. (Optional) Enter a case name – this will be shown in your case list.
  4. Choose the AI model you’d like to use for segmentation.
  5. Click “Done” to begin processing.

Step 3: Run AI Segmentation

After your upload is complete, our AI will automatically begin processing your scan.
There’s no need to click anything — just sit back while we segment the anatomical structures for you.

Step 4: View the Results

Once segmentation is complete, click “View 3D” to explore your scan directly in the browser using our built-in viewer.
Inspect anatomical structures interactively—no extra software needed.

Note

You can share the 3D viewer with your patient via a secure link or QR code.
This allows them to view their case directly on their device without installing anything. Please read how to do it in Share 3D Viewer

Step 5: Download the 3D Models

Once the segmentation is complete, you can download the processed 3D models for use in 3D printing, analysis, or integration into your existing clinical or research workflows.

For a detailed explanation of available formats and settings, see our Export Options.
